One Line of Copy, Twelve Ads, One Indian Price

Amazon Music: Songs & Podcasts is the streaming app from AMZN Mobile LLC, with a free ad-supported tier of stations and podcasts, music included with Prime, and a paid Unlimited plan. As of Oct 2026 it makes an estimated $14M a month on 809K downloads, 140.0x the Music median of $100K. 12 of the 13 top Meta ads carry the identical line, Amazon Music Unlimited, 30 days free, auto-renews at ₹129 a month, cancel anytime, and all 13 mention free.

Key takeaways

  • 218 active Meta ads, 25.6x the Music median of 8, out of 359 found, plus 1,390 Apple Search Ads creatives. The top 13 ads have run 68 days, except one at 65.
  • Only 2 distinct copy lines across 13 top ads. 12 repeat the India offer, 30 days free then ₹129 a month, and the 13th advertises Lata ji's hits for free. 8 are images, 3 are video.
  • The US App Store lists 2 prices: Individual (Monthly) at $13.99 and Family (Monthly) at $24.99, across 8 in-app purchases. No annual plan is listed.
  • Top category ranks spread across 5 markets: #4 Canada, #5 Germany, #6 Australia, #6 Italy and #6 United States, while the top ads target India.
  • Active Meta ads went from 0 to 228 in 37 days, peaking at 638 on Sep 18, 2026, then -50.3% over the latest 30 days. A burst, not a steady drip.

1. One line, twelve creatives

12 of Amazon Music's 13 top Meta ads say exactly the same thing: Amazon Music Unlimited, 30 days FREE, auto-renews at ₹129 a month, cancel anytime. The price is in rupees, so the whole top of the library is an India campaign, and the 13th ad fits, promoting Lata ji's hits for free on Google Play. Behind the one line sit 8 images and 3 videos, all launched together and all 68 days old, with 12 of 13 linking to the App Store. This is a creative test with the copy held constant: the words cannot be what separates winners from losers, only the visual can. Price, trial length and cancellation terms are stated up front. Amazon Music fixed the offer in one sentence and left the testing to the visuals.

2. Ranks in five markets, ads in one

Amazon Music's best Music category ranks are #4 in Canada, #5 in Germany, #6 in Australia, #6 in Italy and #6 in the United States. None of those markets appears in the top 13 Meta ads, which quote a price in rupees and, in one case, a classic Indian singer. The reading is straightforward. In markets where Prime already bundles the app, the store rank takes care of itself and paid media is not needed to hold position. India is different: the Unlimited plan has to be sold on its own at ₹129 a month, so the company buys attention with 218 active ads and a 30-day free trial. Smaller apps face the same choice in miniature: spend where the product does not sell itself, and read the ranks before deciding where that is.

3. Two monthly prices, no annual

Eight in-app purchases on the US App Store resolve to 2 products and 2 prices: Individual (Monthly) at $13.99 and Family (Monthly) at $24.99. No annual plan is listed. Revenue per download is $17.31, well above what the volume suggests, perhaps because much of the paying base arrives through Prime rather than through the App Store funnel. The result is a listing that does not need to negotiate: 809K downloads a month, 12.1x the Music median of 67K, and $14M in estimated revenue, 140.0x the median of $100K. Reviews show the cost of that simplicity: 34 of the latest 200 mention price or subscription and 18 are negative, several noting that features once free with Prime now need a paid plan. A two-price list may work here only because Prime feeds the paying base.

4. The measurement gap

Amazon Music runs 218 Meta ads that mostly sell one Indian offer, 30 days free then ₹129 a month, while its store ranks sit in Canada, Germany, Australia, Italy and the United States. An install from that campaign says nothing about whether the trial converted. The question is which visual, behind identical copy, and which market produce subscribers who are still paying after the 30-day trial ends.

How to measure a playbook like Amazon Music's

With 218 active Meta ads, 12 of the 13 top creatives repeating one ₹129-a-month offer and store ranks in 5 other countries, Amazon Music's paid push is an India trial campaign, and its payoff is invisible at the install.

  1. 01

Connect Meta and see cost next to results

Spend, installs and in-app events land in one report by campaign, so channels get compared on the same numbers.

  2. 02

Send trial and purchase events back to Meta

Core sends mobile postbacks to Meta and three other channels, so the algorithm can optimize for payers instead of cheap installs. Growth adds more channels.

  3. 03

Connect RevenueCat for revenue by campaign

Subscription revenue joins the install data, so each campaign shows return on ad spend, not only cost per install.

How we built this teardown

  • Revenue and downloads are third-party estimates from AppKittie, snapshot Oct 16, 2026. Store intelligence estimates for a single app can be off by 30% or more. Treat them as a range, not a figure from the developer. Daily revenue and download series cover 300 days ending Oct 18, 2026.
  • Ads come from the public Meta Ad Library. "Days live" counts days since an ad first appeared. Spend and audience breakdowns start from Meta's EU transparency figures; country splits outside the EU are AppKittie models.
  • Prices, ratings and ranks come from the App Store (US storefront) on the same date. Prices differ by country and by paywall offer. Review stats use the latest 200 US reviews from Apple's public review feed.
  • Category medians are computed across 44 Music apps with active Meta ads in our set of 860 subscription apps.
  • Written by Hyunjong Choi. Ads, prices and estimates are refreshed every 30 to 90 days. Updated Oct 19, 2026.
