Best Subscription Churn Tracking for Mental Health App
On this page
For a mental health app, look for churn tracking that shows which channel brought the users who cancel, while your subscription tool holds the full reason for each loss. Send as little as you can, because the events themselves can be sensitive. Airbridge makes one of the tools compared here, and Core covers only part of this job: it sees Unsubscribe, not expirations, billing failures, or app deletes.
What mental health apps need from churn tracking
Churn means something different here. A user who feels better and leaves may be your product working. A user who leaves during a hard week may be your product failing. A user who moves to a therapist may be a good outcome for everyone. The cancel event looks the same in all three cases, so treat a churn rate as a question, not a verdict.
Use is also uneven. People often open these apps when they struggle and stop when life calms down. A quiet month is not always a lost customer. Judge a user by whether they keep paying, not by daily opens.
Cancellation and departure are two dates. On an annual plan, a user can turn off auto-renew soon after buying and keep access for months. You will see that intent long before the money stops. Payment failures work the other way: a user who wanted to stay can drop out without ever deciding to leave.
Sensitivity shapes everything else. An event name can reveal a health state. "Finished anxiety program" tells an ad platform something a user never meant to share. Keep clinical and mood data out of attribution events entirely. Send business events only, and check your obligations with your own counsel. This page is not legal advice.
Some apps also sell through employers or care providers. Those users skip the app store, so store-based churn data will not include them.
What the data shows

![]()
This set is very small: 18 apps matched by title in AppKittie in November 2026, each with $10K+ estimated monthly revenue and in-app purchases, so one app can move a bar a lot. Half of them, 50.0%, carry a creator flag against a 35.5% average, while Meta ads appear on 16.7% and Apple Ads on 11.1%, and a flag shows only a link to creators, not a budget. Ash leads at an estimated $108K a month, Ease follows at an estimated $100K, and Serene at an estimated $81K shows that this title match catches fairly modest apps.
How to choose
| Criterion | Why it matters here | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Churn types covered | Quitting and failed payments need different fixes | Which lifecycle events can I use on my plan? |
| Event mix | Refunds and cancels can land in one number | Is a refund a separate event? |
| Channel split | Creator traffic may stay longer or leave sooner | Can I group cancels by source? |
| Data you must send | Event names can expose health details | Can I run on business events alone? |
| App deletes | An uninstall may come before a cancel | Is uninstall tracking on my plan? |

Competitor details come from each vendor's public pages as of November 2026. AppsFlyer says its Zero plan is not suitable for apps with paid activities.
- AppsFlyer may suit a small wellness team that expects few conversions, with 12,000 free in the first 12 months on Zero.
- Adjust needs a pricing page visit, since this table holds no price for it.
- Branch has a free trial on Basics, which may suit a short test, but confirm the billing model first because the pricing page does not state it.
- Singular may suit an app that wants a free plan of 15,000 paid conversions before it pays $0.05 per conversion.
- Kochava may suit a team that wants free App Analytics first, at 10K conversions a month, and can consider Foundation from $500/mo later.
- Airbridge Core may suit a team that only needs cancels split by channel, with a 30-day free trial and then $40+/mo.

How to set this up in Airbridge
- List what you will not send. Leave out moods, programs, and anything clinical. Core uses standard events only, which helps here.
- Start the 30-day free trial and install the SDK. A basic install takes about 5 minutes.
- Connect RevenueCat, Adapty, or Superwall. Cancellations and auto-renew turned off arrive as Unsubscribe. Trial starts arrive as Start Trial, and purchases and renewals arrive as Subscribe.
- Use tracking links for creators. Then read Install, Start Trial, Subscribe, and Unsubscribe by channel in the Funnel report.
- Open the Retention report and set Subscribe as the Return Event. That shows which channels keep paying, which is the clearer view of churn on Core.
What Airbridge Core does not do here
- Unsubscribe only. Expirations, billing issues, and uncancellations arrive as custom events. Core cannot use them, and custom events need Growth.
- Refunds are mixed in. A refund that causes a cancellation shows up as Unsubscribe. Core has no dedicated refund event.
- No app delete data. Uninstall tracking is Growth only.
- No health-law promise. We make no compliance claim for health data here.
If failed payments or win-backs are your main churn problem, work in your subscription tool. Airbridge only adds the channel view. Pick a different setup if you need every lifecycle event by channel in one place.
FAQ
Does Unsubscribe mean the user has left?
Not yet. It covers cancellation and auto-renew turned off, so the user may keep access until the period ends. Read it as a sign of intent to leave. Then use Subscribe as a Return Event to see who keeps paying by channel.
Can I tell a refund from a normal cancel?
Not on Core. Refund-driven cancellations surface through the same Unsubscribe event. RevenueCat lists refunds as a separate event, so check your subscription tool for refund counts and use Airbridge for the channel view.
Can I see which creator's audience cancels most?
Yes, if each creator has a tracking link. Compare Unsubscribe against Subscribe for each source. With few users per creator, one or two cancels can swing the picture, so wait for more volume before you end a deal.
