The measurement gap

4 prices

for a year, fed by 1255 ads and 317 search creatives

1. Skip the month, sell the week or year

Ten in-app purchases, 7 distinct prices, and a missing rung. Weekly Plan and Weekly Pro cost $7.99 and $9.99. Annual plans come at $29.99, $39.99, $59.99 and $69.99, with names like Yearly Plan Special Offer and Yearly Premium, and Lifetime Access costs $99.99. There is no monthly price. The design pushes a trial user into a cheap week, then into a year the next time the paywall appears, and the four annual prices suggest the year is shown at different discounts to different users. Two listings are named AI French, not English, which hints the same shell sells several languages. Reviews show the risk: a user who followed a 30 day free trial advert says they were charged immediately for a year. The week-or-year ladder pushes buyers to commit, and the trial terms have to match the ad for that to hold.

2. Portuguese copy, a link in the text

The two longest-running of Learn English's 75 live Meta ads, both 61 days, are in Portuguese: O melhor lugar para aprender inglês, learn English in just 5 minutes a day, followed by a speaklearnfrenchlingoai.onelink.me address pasted into the copy. 6 of the 13 repeat the English line Learn English easily with simple lessons, also with the URL, and only 2 of the 13, at 42 days, link straight to the App Store. 4 copy lines cover all 13, all are video, and 0 mention free. The onelink domain also says French, which matches the AI French price listings: one ad account, several language products. 1255 ads found against 75 live means heavy rotation, a test-and-kill approach. Deep links take the click straight in, but the brand in the URL should match the product on the page.

3. Older learners pay for a tutor

Meta Ad Library spend estimates for Learn English show $6K of lifetime spend reaching 417.1K people, and the age mix is unusual for a language app. 25.9% of spend goes to ages 45 to 54, 22.2% to 35 to 44 and 18.2% to 55 to 64, with 57.9% aimed at women and 41.3% at men. The United States takes an estimated 62.3% of spend for 40.4% of reach, while France gets 7.60%, the United Kingdom 8.65% and Italy 4.03%. Adults past 45 are the buyers who pay $69.99 a year to talk to a patient tutor, and revenue per download of $3.01 says enough of them do. The older age targeting may matter more to Lingo AI than the creative itself.

4. The measurement gap

Learn English: Lingo AI rotates through 1255 Meta ads, 75 live at once, plus 317 Apple Search Ads creatives, routes most clicks through a onelink URL and sells a week at $7.99 or a year at anywhere from $29.99 to $69.99. The question is which market, which deep link and which annual price bring the learner who stays past the first week rather than the one who writes a review about being charged for a year.

How to measure a playbook like Learn English's

Learn English runs 75 live Meta ads in Portuguese and English through onelink URLs and 317 Apple Search Ads creatives, so the question is which market and link produce a yearly subscriber, not just an install.

  1. 01

Connect RevenueCat to see revenue by channel

Every purchase and renewal joins the install it came from, so each channel shows real revenue, not only installs.

  2. 02

    Compare markets, not only campaigns

With several price points, the same campaign earns different revenue per country. Break revenue down by country and channel together.

  3. 03

    Watch retention by channel

An annual buyer and a monthly buyer look the same at install. Retention by channel shows which source keeps paying.

How we built this teardown

  • Revenue and downloads are third-party estimates from AppKittie, snapshot Oct 16, 2026. Store intelligence estimates for a single app can be off by 30% or more. Treat them as a range, not a figure from the developer. Daily revenue and download series cover 78 days ending Oct 17, 2026.
  • Ads come from the public Meta Ad Library. "Days live" counts days since an ad first appeared. Spend and audience breakdowns start from Meta's EU transparency figures; country splits outside the EU are AppKittie models.
  • Prices, ratings and ranks come from the App Store (US storefront) on the same date. Prices differ by country and by paywall offer. Review stats use the latest 74 US reviews from Apple's public review feed.
  • Category medians are computed across 86 Education apps with active Meta ads in our set of 860 subscription apps.
  • Written by Hyunjong Choi. Ads, prices and estimates are refreshed every 30 to 90 days. Updated Oct 19, 2026.
