Two Thousand Ads, One Line of Copy, Monthly Only

Paramount+ is the streaming service from CBS Mobile, carrying CBS and Paramount originals and films, live NFL, UFC and UEFA Champions League games, and episodes from Nickelodeon and Comedy Central. As of Oct 2026 it makes an estimated $44M a month from 906K downloads, 212.6x the Entertainment median revenue on 30.2x the median downloads. Its strangest marketing fact is scale without variety: 2000 active Meta ads, 87.0x the category median, and the 13 longest running all carry the same single line of copy.

Key takeaways

  • 2000 active Meta ads, 87.0x the Entertainment median of 23, with 1808 found in the library and 0 Apple Search Ads creatives. Every one of the 13 top ads links to the web.
  • All 13 top ads share 1 copy line, a comedy pitch ending with stream hit series, movies and more on Paramount+. 12 are static images, 0 are video, and they have run 220 to 221 days.
  • Three monthly plans at $8.99, $9.99 and $13.99 and no annual option. 10 in-app purchases resolve to just 3 distinct prices, all monthly.
  • Estimated revenue rose 20.6% over 304 days, from $36.8M to $44.3M a month, while downloads slipped from 919K to 907K, a -1.3% change. The latest 30 days show downloads up 28.4%.
  • Recent reviews average 2.73 across 200, and 40 of them, 20.0%, mention price or subscription, 29 negatively. The app's only top country rank is #14 in the United States.

The measurement gap

2000

active Meta ads, all pointing to the web

1. Two thousand ads, one sentence

Paramount+ has 2000 active Meta ads, 87.0x the Entertainment median of 23, and the 13 that have run longest are, in text, the same ad. Each says bring on the laughs with the biggest names in comedy, then stream hit series, movies and more on Paramount+. 12 are static images, none is video, and all 13 have run 220 to 221 days to the same web landing page. So the variety lives in the image and the audience, not the words. One line, hundreds of pictures, thousands of placements. That is cheap to produce and easy to read in the ad library: whichever image lasts is the one that works, because the copy is held constant. A smaller app with a single clear promise can run the same test, freezing the sentence and rotating only the visual.

2. Monthly only, highest revenue per install

There is no annual plan on Paramount+'s US App Store listing. The 10 in-app purchases resolve to 3 monthly prices, $8.99, $9.99 and $13.99, for the Essential, Limited Commercials and Premium tiers. Yet the app earns an estimated $48.57 per download, with 906K downloads a month producing $44M in revenue, 212.6x the category median on 30.2x the median installs. Monthly pricing without a discounted annual means every subscriber is re-deciding each month, and the ad volume, 2000 active placements, is partly there to win those re-decisions during NFL and UFC seasons. Reviews show the cost of that: 40 of 200 recent reviews mention price or subscription, 29 of them negative. Smaller subscription apps that rely on live events can copy the monthly-only ladder, but they should expect to spend on retention ads, not only acquisition.

3. Revenue up a fifth as installs flatline

Across 304 days to Oct 18, 2026, Paramount+'s estimated monthly revenue climbed from $36.8M to $44.3M, up 20.6%, while estimated downloads went from 919K to 907K, a -1.3% change. The gain is coming from paying more per user or keeping users longer, not from more installs. Downloads did spike 28.4% in the latest 30 days, after a 1.0M peak on Sep 1, 2026, which lines up with the start of the NFL season the app advertises. Over the same stretch the active ad count in the library rose from 1.8K to 2.3K in 37 days, up 29.0%. Volume up, installs briefly up, revenue steadily up. For a smaller app the pattern to copy is to tie the ad surge to a calendar moment the audience already cares about, then check whether the September installs are still paying in December.

4. The measurement gap

Paramount+ pushes 2000 Meta ads to a web sign-up page with one copy line and sells only monthly plans at $8.99 to $13.99. Installs spiked 28.4% in the latest 30 days around the sports calendar. The question is which image, which audience and which month deliver a subscriber who is still paying after the season, not just a September download.

How to measure a playbook like Paramount+'s

Paramount+ runs 2000 Meta ads with one copy line, all pointing at a web checkout for monthly plans from $8.99, so the measurement question is which image and audience turn into retained subscribers.

  1. 01

Connect Meta and see cost next to results

Spend, installs and in-app events land in one report by campaign, so channels get compared on the same numbers.

  2. 02

Send trial and purchase events back to Meta

Core sends mobile postbacks to Meta and three other channels, so the algorithm can optimize for payers instead of cheap installs. Growth adds more channels.

  3. 03

Connect RevenueCat for revenue by campaign

Subscription revenue joins the install data, so each campaign shows return on ad spend, not only cost per install.

How we built this teardown

  • Revenue and downloads are third-party estimates from AppKittie, snapshot Oct 16, 2026. Store intelligence estimates for a single app can be off by 30% or more. Treat them as a range, not a figure from the developer. Daily revenue and download series cover 304 days ending Oct 18, 2026.
  • Ads come from the public Meta Ad Library. "Days live" counts days since an ad first appeared. Spend and audience breakdowns start from Meta's EU transparency figures; country splits outside the EU are AppKittie models.
  • Prices, ratings and ranks come from the App Store (US storefront) on the same date. Prices differ by country and by paywall offer. Review stats use the latest 200 US reviews from Apple's public review feed.
  • Category medians are computed across 80 Entertainment apps with active Meta ads in our set of 860 subscription apps.
  • Written by Hyunjong Choi. Ads, prices and estimates are refreshed every 30 to 90 days. Updated Oct 19, 2026.
