1. Creators in four languages, one app

AppKittie found 16 creator videos for SuperChinese and sampled 13, from 13 different accounts, 12 on Instagram and 1 on TikTok. The languages are the point. A Japanese account on a working holiday posts about hard pronunciation with the tag #superchinese pr; an Indonesian creator shares the secret to a Tsinghua scholarship, practice speaking; a Korean post is marked #광고, an ad, for study before a China trip; English accounts call it free to download and suitable for newbies and longtime learners. These are paid or partnered posts spread across markets where Mandarin has a practical pull. It works because each creator speaks to one country's reason to learn. SuperChinese uses a few creators per source market, each with a local reason, each disclosed.

2. Thirteen Vietnamese ads, nine to Google Play

SuperChinese's 151 active Meta ads sit at 2.3x the Education median of 65, and the top 13 are all Vietnamese. 11 distinct lines, each a mini lesson: learn how to order drinks with SuperChinese, how to ask a friend to the movies, how to check into a hotel, or a confession that cramming 1200 HSK4 words was agony before this app. All 13 are video, 9 link to Google Play and 4 to the App Store. Lesson-as-ad copy shows the product instead of describing it, and the Vietnamese focus with a Google Play tilt says the paid budget targets one Android-heavy market while creators cover Japan, Korea and Indonesia. Each ad is one lesson, in the market's language, pointed at the store that market uses.

3. Two lines, a lifetime, few complaints

SuperChinese sells two lines, PLUS and AI CHAO, across 10 in-app purchases at 8 prices. Monthly costs $11.99 or $24.99, annual runs $42.99, $49.99, $57.99, $59.99 and $109.99, a 2.6x spread, and PLUS has a $139.99 lifetime. The cheapest year is 30% of 12 months at $11.99. What stands out is the reaction: of the latest 200 reviews only 9, 4.5%, mention price, trial or subscription, and just 1 is negative, with the sample averaging 4.81 and 181 five-star. Revenue rose 444.6% over 117 days of trend data, from $37K to $203K. A premium language course priced like a course, with a lifetime for the committed, apparently reads as fair. For SuperChinese, a deep product may let a high price draw fewer complaints than a hidden one would.

4. The measurement gap

SuperChinese reaches learners through Japanese, Indonesian, Korean and English creators on Instagram, Vietnamese Meta ads that mostly point at Google Play, and 44 Apple Search Ads creatives, then sells PLUS and AI CHAO from $11.99 a month to a $139.99 lifetime. An install cannot say which country's creator or which Vietnamese lesson brought it. The question is which market and which plan produce learners who are still studying, and paying, a year later.

How to measure a playbook like SuperChinese's

With 13 creators across four languages, 151 Vietnamese Meta ads split between Google Play and the App Store and a ladder up to a $139.99 lifetime, SuperChinese's growth comes from several markets that an install alone cannot separate.

  1. 01

Give every creator their own tracking link

Put one link in each creator bio, caption or landing page. Installs from that link count for that creator instead of showing up as organic.

  2. 02

Upload what you pay each creator

Add creator fees with a CSV cost upload and use the creator name as the campaign. You get cost per install for each creator next to your paid channels.

  3. 03

Connect RevenueCat to see who brings payers

Subscription events flow into the same report, so you see which creators bring people who start a trial and keep paying.

How we built this teardown

  • Revenue and downloads are third-party estimates from AppKittie, snapshot Oct 16, 2026. Store intelligence estimates for a single app can be off by 30% or more. Treat them as a range, not a figure from the developer. Daily revenue and download series cover 117 days ending Oct 18, 2026.
  • Ads come from the public Meta Ad Library. "Days live" counts days since an ad first appeared. Spend and audience breakdowns start from Meta's EU transparency figures; country splits outside the EU are AppKittie models.
  • Prices, ratings and ranks come from the App Store (US storefront) on the same date. Prices differ by country and by paywall offer. Review stats use the latest 200 US reviews from Apple's public review feed.
  • Category medians are computed across 86 Education apps with active Meta ads in our set of 860 subscription apps.
  • Written by Hyunjong Choi. Ads, prices and estimates are refreshed every 30 to 90 days. Updated Oct 19, 2026.
