Screenshots and why they convert
8 screenshots of up to 10, the first 6 shown here. The first 3 show in search results when there's no preview video.

#1In search results
India’s Serious MatchMaking App
- matchmakingin name
- What it shows
- A couple embracing, forehead to forehead, on a navy and blue background with faint line icons. No app screen is shown.
- Why it converts
- Sets a romantic mood with a couple photo and a headline aimed at Indian users. It shows no product screen, so what you do in the app is left for the next images. “Serious” is the app's own claim.

#2In search results
Meet verified & eligible singles
- verified singlesnot in name
- What it shows
- A profile card for “Anjali” with a VIP badge, a “Check your Personality Compatibility” button, and X, Spark and check buttons. A “75% Off” tag shows at the top.
- Why it converts
- Shows the core action, browsing a profile and choosing yes or no. The caption names “verified” and “eligible” as the promise. The profile photo is large and the buttons are easy to read.

#3In search results
1:1 Counseling Session with Human MatchMaker
- matchmakernot in name
- What it shows
- A live video call with a woman on screen and a small self-view of a man below, with a red LIVE tag.
- Why it converts
- Shows a feature where a person is on the call: a human matchmaker.

#4
Get Relationship advice from our Expert MatchMaker
- relationship advicenot in name
- What it shows
- A “TM Café” list of advisors with photos, 4.5 star scores, “128 hrs Exp.” labels, topic tags and Call Now buttons.
- Why it converts
- Extends the human-help idea with a list of named advisors. Scores and hours of experience act as small trust cues. The UI text is small and would be hard to read in search results.

#5
Video chat to know your Matches better
- video chatnot in name
- What it shows
- An incoming call banner from “Anjali” with decline and accept buttons over a full-screen video of her, with a small self-view.
- Why it converts
- Shows the step after matching, getting to know someone before meeting. The caption states the benefit, not just the feature.

#6
Meet people who like you
- people who like younot in name
- What it shows
- A “People who like you” grid of six profile photos with Online, Recently Active and New tags and filter chips.
- Why it converts
- Shows a payoff a visitor can picture: people who already like you. The photo grid is easy to scan.
Icon and design system
What makes the page read as one brand at a glance.
- 01
Headline first, then one feature
The first image sets the category with a photo and a headline. Later images each show one feature: profiles, a human matchmaker, advice, video chat, likes.
- 02
Two-tone captions
Most captions are white with one phrase in blue, such as “Human MatchMaker” or “Video chat”. The blue phrase is the part the eye lands on.
- 03
Same frame on most images
A navy background, faint line icons, a blue wedge at the bottom and a phone frame repeat on most images. Swiping through reads as one set.
- 04
Human help as the difference
Two images show live counseling and an advisor list. This puts a person-led service in the gallery, not only profile browsing.
- 05
Real-looking people on every image
Photos of people appear in all six. The app is about meeting people, so faces show the use directly.

Where the points are
- Ask happy users for a rating+19 pts
4.3 stars from 325 ratings. Apple's in-app rating prompt can be shown up to 3 times a year; show it right after a user finishes something in the app.
- Ship an update+4 pts
The last update was 69 days ago. A new version also refreshes the "What's New" notes people read before they download.
- Check caption terms against your subtitle and keywords
5 caption terms aren't in the app name: verified singles, matchmaker, relationship advice, video chat, people who like you. Captions don't count for search; the subtitle and the 100-character keyword field do.
Apply it to your app
A checklist for your next product page update.
- Put your category and audience in the first caption if the name does not say it.
- Show a real app screen early. A photo alone does not show what you do in the app.
- Give each screenshot one feature and one short caption.
- Color the key phrase in each caption so it stands out.
- Keep text inside phone screens large enough to read at thumbnail size.
- Show what sets your app apart, like a live human service, not only the common features.
How the ASO score works
- 01
App name, 25 points
Up to 10 for how much of Apple's 30 characters it uses, 10 for a brand + keyword structure, 5 when keywords fill half the name or more.
- 02
Screenshots, 35 points
Captions on every image, captions that name searched features, a first screenshot that shows the main use, one design system, readability at search size, and a trust signal.
- 03
Ratings, 25 points
Up to 15 for the average (from 4.0, full marks at 4.8) and 10 for the count (from 1,000, full marks at 100,000 ratings).
- 04
Freshness, 15 points
Full marks for an update in the last 30 days, falling to zero at 180 days. 85+ is excellent, 70+ strong, 50+ fair.
Common questions
What is an ASO score?
A 100-point check of the parts of an App Store page you control: the app name, screenshots, ratings and how recently the app was updated. It's our own scoring rule, shown in full on this page, not a number from Apple. Use it to compare your page with apps that already sell well in your category.
How long can an app name be on the App Store?
30 characters. A common pattern is a short brand followed by the main thing people search for, like “TrulyMadly: Indian MatchMaking”, which uses 30. Apple also gives you a 30-character subtitle and a 100-character keyword field for more terms.
Which screenshots show up in App Store search results?
The first one to three, when the app has no preview video. That's why the first three should cover the main reasons people download. TrulyMadly uses them for matchmaking, verified singles and matchmaker.
How many screenshots can an iPhone app have?
Up to 10 per device size. Apple recommends focusing each screenshot after the first on one main benefit or feature. TrulyMadly uses 8.
Where do the download and revenue numbers come from?
They're third-party estimates for the US App Store, not figures reported by the developer. Treat them as a sense of scale. Growth compares the latest month with the month before.
Do screenshot captions help an app rank in search?
Apple says search results use text matches in the app name, subtitle, keywords and primary category, plus user behavior such as downloads, ratings and reviews. Captions aren't on that list: they help people who already see the app decide to download. When a caption names something people search for, put that term in the keyword field too.
Where the numbers come from
- Apple: Creating your product page
- App name limit (30 characters), up to 10 screenshots, the first one to three shown in search results, keyword field.
- Apple: App Store search
- Search results use text relevance (name, subtitle, keywords, primary category) and user behavior (downloads, ratings, reviews).
- Apple: Ratings, reviews and responses
- The in-app rating prompt can be shown up to three times in a 365-day period.
- TrulyMadly: Indian MatchMaking on the App Store
- Name, developer, category, icon, screenshots, rating, release and update dates (US storefront), checked Nov 4, 2026.
- Downloads and revenue
- Third-party est. for the US App Store, latest month, pulled Oct 29, 2026. Not reported by the developer.
