Screenshots and why they convert
5 screenshots of up to 10. The first 3 show in search results when there's no preview video.

#1In search results
Measure Fast Get accurate answers in seconds
- measurein name
- What it shows
- Two phones: a stockpile photo with an outline around it, and a result screen showing 882 yd³ with a 3D model and Save and Discard buttons.
- Why it converts
- Shows the result, a volume number, in the first frame. The app's own claim, “accurate answers in seconds”, sits next to a real result screen.

#2In search results
Measure Smart Real-time on screen guidance
- What it shows
- A phone camera view of stacked concrete blocks with a stockpile, covered in colored dots. A step bar and a small diagram above it show where to move the phone.
- Why it converts
- Shows how the capture works, so a visitor sees there is guidance and not a blank camera.

#3In search results
Manage Every Pile Track your piles
- pilesnot in name
- What it shows
- A Piles list for a site named Airport, with entries like 1/2" Inventory Stockpile and Grade 9 Sand. The first row is highlighted.
- Why it converts
- Moves from one measurement to many, which speaks to people with several piles to keep track of. The highlighted row points the eye to one item.

#4
AI for Stockpiles Visualize your measurement in 3D
- stockpilesnot in name
- 3dnot in name
- What it shows
- A measurement detail screen with 63 yd³, two confidence labels (surface coverage High, toe coverage Medium), and a gray 3D terrain model.
- Why it converts
- Names the product's own AI claim and shows the 3D model that backs it. The confidence labels show the app tells users how reliable a scan is.

#5
STOCKPILE REPORTS® Every Pile, Any Time™
- stockpile reportsnot in name
- What it shows
- A drone image at the top, a yellow band with the printed name Stockpile Reports, and a laptop dashboard with a phone below.
- Why it converts
- Points to a companion web product for reports. The drone does not appear anywhere else in the set.
Icon and design system
What makes the page read as one brand at a glance.
- 01
Short verb headlines
Four of the captions start with a verb or a short phrase in large yellow type: Measure Fast, Measure Smart, Manage Every Pile, AI for Stockpiles. Each has one plain line under it.
- 02
Result first, then the how
The first image shows a volume number. The next images show the capture guidance, the pile list and the 3D view.
- 03
One dark system with a yellow accent
Most images use a dark striped background, a yellow headline, a white subline and a phone. The set mostly reads as one brand and matches the icon.
- 04
Real work-site data in the UI
Pile names like Inventory Stockpile and Grade 9 Sand, and units in yd³, tell a quarry or yard buyer this is made for their job.
- 05
A different layout in the last image
The last image drops the phone-and-headline layout for a drone, a banner and a laptop. It promotes a separate product, and the shift breaks the pattern of the set.

Where the points are
- Ask happy users for a rating+25 pts
3.8 stars from 48 ratings. Apple's in-app rating prompt can be shown up to 3 times a year; show it right after a user finishes something in the app.
- Check caption terms against your subtitle and keywords
4 caption terms aren't in the app name: piles, stockpiles, 3d, stockpile reports. Captions don't count for search; the subtitle and the 100-character keyword field do.
- Win back installs
Downloads fell 3.2% while revenue rose 25%. A product page that converts more of its visitors wins installs back without more ad spend.
Apply it to your app
A checklist for your next product page update.
- Show a real result with its number in the first screenshot.
- Write headlines as a short verb phrase, with one plain line under it.
- Use your own terms in the UI you show, so your buyer sees their job.
- Keep one layout, one accent color and one background across the set.
- Match the icon colors to the screenshot colors.
- If you add a trust signal, such as a rating, award or user count, put it in the first few images.
How the ASO score works
- 01
App name, 25 points
Up to 10 for how much of Apple's 30 characters it uses, 10 for a brand + keyword structure, 5 when keywords fill half the name or more.
- 02
Screenshots, 35 points
Captions on every image, captions that name searched features, a first screenshot that shows the main use, one design system, readability at search size, and a trust signal.
- 03
Ratings, 25 points
Up to 15 for the average (from 4.0, full marks at 4.8) and 10 for the count (from 1,000, full marks at 100,000 ratings).
- 04
Freshness, 15 points
Full marks for an update in the last 30 days, falling to zero at 180 days. 85+ is excellent, 70+ strong, 50+ fair.
Common questions
What is an ASO score?
A 100-point check of the parts of an App Store page you control: the app name, screenshots, ratings and how recently the app was updated. It's our own scoring rule, shown in full on this page, not a number from Apple. Use it to compare your page with apps that already sell well in your category.
How long can an app name be on the App Store?
30 characters. A common pattern is a short brand followed by the main thing people search for, like “SR Measure: Stockpile Volume”, which uses 28. Apple also gives you a 30-character subtitle and a 100-character keyword field for more terms.
Which screenshots show up in App Store search results?
The first one to three, when the app has no preview video. That's why the first three should cover the main reasons people download. SR Measure uses them for measure and piles.
How many screenshots can an iPhone app have?
Up to 10 per device size. Apple recommends focusing each screenshot after the first on one main benefit or feature. SR Measure uses 5.
Where do the download and revenue numbers come from?
They're third-party estimates for the US App Store, not figures reported by the developer. Treat them as a sense of scale. Growth compares the latest month with the month before.
Do screenshot captions help an app rank in search?
Apple says search results use text matches in the app name, subtitle, keywords and primary category, plus user behavior such as downloads, ratings and reviews. Captions aren't on that list: they help people who already see the app decide to download. When a caption names something people search for, put that term in the keyword field too.
Where the numbers come from
- Apple: Creating your product page
- App name limit (30 characters), up to 10 screenshots, the first one to three shown in search results, keyword field.
- Apple: App Store search
- Search results use text relevance (name, subtitle, keywords, primary category) and user behavior (downloads, ratings, reviews).
- Apple: Ratings, reviews and responses
- The in-app rating prompt can be shown up to three times in a 365-day period.
- SR Measure: Stockpile Volume on the App Store
- Name, developer, category, icon, screenshots, rating, release and update dates (US storefront), checked Nov 4, 2026.
- Downloads and revenue
- Third-party est. for the US App Store, latest month, pulled Oct 29, 2026. Not reported by the developer.
