Screenshots and why they convert
6 screenshots of up to 10. The first 3 show in search results when there's no preview video.

#1In search results
WALK TO EARN
- earnin name
- What it shows
- Large white caps over a purple-to-pink gradient, with a smiling 3D fox mascot walking beside a gift box and gold dollar coins.
- Why it converts
- States the whole idea in three words, so a visitor knows what the app does before reading anything else. The mascot and coins add the reward feeling, but there is no app screen yet to show how it works.

#2In search results
CASH WITHDRAWALS AVAILABLE
- withdrawalsnot in name
- What it shows
- A phone on the Withdraw tab listing Visa, Burger King, Cash App, PayPal and Amazon options, with a floating “+100 coins” chip and loose coins around the frame.
- Why it converts
- Answers the first doubt about an earning app: can I actually take the money out? Real brand tiles make the payout options concrete.

#3In search results
INSTANT REWARDS FOR STEPS
- rewardsnot in name
- stepsnot in name
- What it shows
- A dark-mode Withdraw list with Visa, PayPal, Spotify, Walmart and Amazon cards. The Cash App card is enlarged and pulled out of the phone frame. A gold trophy sits in the corner.
- Why it converts
- The caption links steps to rewards in one line. The enlarged card gives the eye one place to land at small size.

#4
WITHDRAW REWARDS AT $1
- withdraw rewardsnot in name
- What it shows
- A reward grid with card values from $10 to $40 and a PayPal card highlighted with a check mark. Cash App and PayPal cards break out of the frame, above a large orange Withdraw button.
- Why it converts
- A specific number in the caption sets a clear expectation. The orange button shows the next action.

#5
GROW WITH FRIENDS
- What it shows
- The Bonus tab on a Referrals view. It reads “Bring friends”, describes a 10% lifetime bonus and 5000 coins for a friend, and has a Share button and a fox peeking from the bottom.
- Why it converts
- Adds a second way to use the app beyond walking. The offer is readable on the screen, but the caption names no reward.

#6
BONUSES & PROMO CODES
- promo codesnot in name
- What it shows
- The Redeem tab with a “Redeem your code” field, an Apply button, and two cards named Quick coin and Coin boost.
- Why it converts
- Speaks to people who look for promo codes.
Icon and design system
What makes the page read as one brand at a glance.
- 01
Short bold caps on a gradient
Captions are three to four words of heavy white capitals on a purple-to-pink background.
- 02
Payout options are the main proof
Several screenshots show the Withdraw list with known brand tiles. None of these images shows the step counter itself, so the pitch rests on what the user can cash out.
- 03
Cards break out of the phone
A Cash App or PayPal card is enlarged past the device frame. The key item stays readable when the image is shrunk.
- 04
Mascot and coins as brand cues
A 3D fox and gold coins appear on the first screenshot and return in later ones. They give the set a friendly, game-like feel that matches the icon.
- 05
Mix of light and dark screens
The phone UI changes between light and dark across images, while the frame, gradient and caption style mostly stay the same. The set still reads as one system.

Where the points are
- Check caption terms against your subtitle and keywords
5 caption terms aren't in the app name: withdrawals, rewards, steps, withdraw rewards, promo codes. Captions don't count for search; the subtitle and the 100-character keyword field do.
Apply it to your app
A checklist for your next product page update.
- Put the core promise in the first caption in plain words, such as “Walk to earn”.
- Answer the biggest doubt early. For an earning app, that is whether payouts are real.
- Put a specific number in a caption when you have one, like the $1 minimum.
- Pull the key card or number out of the device frame so it reads at thumbnail size.
- Keep one background, caption style and mascot across the set, and match the icon colors to it.
- Put supporting features such as referrals and promo codes after the main benefits.
How the ASO score works
- 01
App name, 25 points
Up to 10 for how much of Apple's 30 characters it uses, 10 for a brand + keyword structure, 5 when keywords fill half the name or more.
- 02
Screenshots, 35 points
Captions on every image, captions that name searched features, a first screenshot that shows the main use, one design system, readability at search size, and a trust signal.
- 03
Ratings, 25 points
Up to 15 for the average (from 4.0, full marks at 4.8) and 10 for the count (from 1,000, full marks at 100,000 ratings).
- 04
Freshness, 15 points
Full marks for an update in the last 30 days, falling to zero at 180 days. 85+ is excellent, 70+ strong, 50+ fair.
Common questions
What is an ASO score?
A 100-point check of the parts of an App Store page you control: the app name, screenshots, ratings and how recently the app was updated. It's our own scoring rule, shown in full on this page, not a number from Apple. Use it to compare your page with apps that already sell well in your category.
How long can an app name be on the App Store?
30 characters. A common pattern is a short brand followed by the main thing people search for, like “Scrambly: Earn Money Walking”, which uses 28. Apple also gives you a 30-character subtitle and a 100-character keyword field for more terms.
Which screenshots show up in App Store search results?
The first one to three, when the app has no preview video. That's why the first three should cover the main reasons people download. Scrambly uses them for earn, withdrawals and rewards.
How many screenshots can an iPhone app have?
Up to 10 per device size. Apple recommends focusing each screenshot after the first on one main benefit or feature. Scrambly uses 6.
Where do the download and revenue numbers come from?
They're third-party estimates for the US App Store, not figures reported by the developer. Treat them as a sense of scale. Growth compares the latest month with the month before.
Do screenshot captions help an app rank in search?
Apple says search results use text matches in the app name, subtitle, keywords and primary category, plus user behavior such as downloads, ratings and reviews. Captions aren't on that list: they help people who already see the app decide to download. When a caption names something people search for, put that term in the keyword field too.
Where the numbers come from
- Apple: Creating your product page
- App name limit (30 characters), up to 10 screenshots, the first one to three shown in search results, keyword field.
- Apple: App Store search
- Search results use text relevance (name, subtitle, keywords, primary category) and user behavior (downloads, ratings, reviews).
- Apple: Ratings, reviews and responses
- The in-app rating prompt can be shown up to three times in a 365-day period.
- Scrambly: Earn Money Walking on the App Store
- Name, developer, category, icon, screenshots, rating, release and update dates (US storefront), checked Nov 4, 2026.
- Downloads and revenue
- Third-party est. for the US App Store, latest month, pulled Oct 29, 2026. Not reported by the developer.
