    • sleepin name
    What it shows
A woman meditating with closed eyes, three stat cards (4.9 average rating, 57k user reviews, 38k daily meditators) and a “Best Rated Wellness App” line with five stars.
    Why it converts
States the three outcomes the app promises and puts the ratings and user numbers in the first frame. The stats are the app's own printed claims. Health apps ask for trust early, and this frame supplies it.

Fall asleep just in a few minutes

    • fall asleepnot in name
    What it shows

    Why it converts
Sleep is one of the main reasons to open a meditation app, and this frame ties it to a real item with a clear next step. The caption names a concrete result a visitor can picture.

A Sounds & Music grid with filter chips (All, Sounds, Music, Binaural, Video) and tiles such as Seaside Shore, Rain Haven and Night Crickets.
    Why it converts
Opens a second use, ambient sound for relaxing or focus, for people who do not want guided talk. The labeled tiles show variety at a glance.

Icon and design system

What makes the page read as one brand at a glance.

120px
60px
40px
  • One symbol, a closed eye, points to sleep and rest without any text.
  • A single flat green with a white outline is simple and should stay readable at small sizes.
  • The same green appears in the screenshot headlines and buttons, so icon and gallery feel related.
  1. 01

    Proof in the first frame

Screenshot 1 prints a 4.9 rating, 57k reviews and 38k daily meditators next to the promise. These are the app's own claims, and they sit where search results show them.

  2. 02

    Needs before features

Captions name what the visitor wants: fall asleep, relieve stress, a mood-based pick. Features follow as support.

  3. 03

    Real content pages as UI

Two screens show an actual meditation page with a length, a guide name and a Listen now button. A visitor sees what they will get after the install.

  4. 04

    One layout, repeated

A headline on top, a green phone frame below and a pale gradient behind. Bold dark-green words mark the key phrase in the headlines.

  5. 05

    Breadth after the core

Sleep and stress come first. Quotes and sounds come later.

Where the points are

  1. Ask happy users for a rating+5 pts

4.9 stars from 10,452 ratings. Apple's in-app rating prompt can be shown up to 3 times a year; show it right after a user finishes something in the app.

  2. Check caption terms against your subtitle and keywords

8 caption terms aren't in the app name: calm, fall asleep, stress, self-love, mood, quotes, natural sounds, music. Captions don't count for search; the subtitle and the 100-character keyword field do.

Apply it to your app

A checklist for your next product page update.

  • Put your strongest proof, such as rating or user count, in the first screenshot.
  • Write each caption as a result the visitor wants, not a feature name.
  • Show a real content page or result screen, not only menus.
  • Order screenshots by need: the main reason first, extras last.
  • Bold the key words in each headline so the point reads at thumbnail size.
  • Keep sub-captions short, or drop them.
How it works

How the ASO score works

  1. 01

    App name, 25 points

Up to 10 for how much of Apple's 30 characters it uses, 10 for a brand + keyword structure, 5 when keywords fill half the name or more.

  2. 02

    Screenshots, 35 points

Captions on every image, captions that name searched features, a first screenshot that shows the main use, one design system, readability at search size, and a trust signal.

  3. 03

    Ratings, 25 points

Up to 15 for the average (from 4.0, full marks at 4.8) and 10 for the count (from 1,000, full marks at 100,000 ratings).

  4. 04

    Freshness, 15 points

Full marks for an update in the last 30 days, falling to zero at 180 days. 85+ is excellent, 70+ strong, 50+ fair.

FAQ

Common questions

What is an ASO score?

A 100-point check of the parts of an App Store page you control: the app name, screenshots, ratings and how recently the app was updated. It's our own scoring rule, shown in full on this page, not a number from Apple. Use it to compare your page with apps that already sell well in your category.

How long can an app name be on the App Store?

30 characters. A common pattern is a short brand followed by the main thing people search for, like “Pura Mente: Sleep & Meditation”, which uses 30. Apple also gives you a 30-character subtitle and a 100-character keyword field for more terms.

Which screenshots show up in App Store search results?

The first one to three, when the app has no preview video. That's why the first three should cover the main reasons people download. Pura Mente uses them for calm, fall asleep and stress.

How many screenshots can an iPhone app have?

Up to 10 per device size. Apple recommends focusing each screenshot after the first on one main benefit or feature. Pura Mente uses 8.

Where do the download and revenue numbers come from?

They're third-party estimates for the US App Store, not figures reported by the developer. Treat them as a sense of scale. Growth compares the latest month with the month before.

Do screenshot captions help an app rank in search?

Apple says search results use text matches in the app name, subtitle, keywords and primary category, plus user behavior such as downloads, ratings and reviews. Captions aren't on that list: they help people who already see the app decide to download. When a caption names something people search for, put that term in the keyword field too.
