Screenshots and why they convert
9 screenshots of up to 10, the first 6 shown here. The first 3 show in search results when there's no preview video.

#1In search results
Track all your investments efficiently on a single platform
- investmentsnot in name
- What it shows
- A portfolio card with net worth and a rising line chart, above a phone screen with a Portfolio summary split into stocks, mutual funds, ULIP and bullion.
- Why it converts
- Says what the app does in the first frame: one place to follow your holdings. The enlarged card keeps the net worth readable in search results, but the caption is long.

#2In search results
Track major economic events across the world and their impact on markets
- economic eventsnot in name
- What it shows
- A zoomed events card with country flags and figures for actual, previous and consensus, above an Events Calendar screen with Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow tabs.
- Why it converts
- Shows a second use, following the economy, not only your own money. The three-line caption is long, and the flags and figures are small.

#3In search results
Find incisive stock analysis. Get bigger bang for your investment
- stock analysisnot in name
- What it shows
- A zoomed card with a “Strong performer” bar and strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats chips, above a Tata Steel screen with PRO labels on some tabs.
- Why it converts
- Names a feature people look for, stock analysis. “Bigger bang for your investment” is a loose promise with no specific outcome.

#4
Say hello to the big sharks of the market. Discover where and how they invest
- What it shows
- A circular badge reading “Big Shark Portfolio” with a named investor, net worth and company holdings, above a Big Shark Portfolios screen under a Moneycontrol PRO header.
- Why it converts
- A curiosity hook: you can see what well-known investors hold. It is a distinct feature, but the caption is a figure of speech and does not name the feature in plain words.

#5
The most comprehensive F&O market analysis—like never before
- f&onot in name
- What it shows
- A zoomed card with expiry, price, open interest and a “Short covering” label, above an Open Interest Analysis list with orange Short Covering tags.
- Why it converts
- Speaks to a narrow group, F&O traders, with a term they know. “Most comprehensive” is the app's own claim and the screenshot does not back it up.

#6
Watch: All your favourite Moneycontrol shows in one place
- showsnot in name
- What it shows
- A video card for a live stock market show with a Watch Now button, above a Videos screen with an explainer thumbnail about crypto firms.
- Why it converts
- Shows that the app carries video news, not only data. The caption leans on the brand name, which a new visitor may not know.
Icon and design system
What makes the page read as one brand at a glance.
- 01
Card above the phone
Each image puts a zoomed card above the real screen. The card holds the key detail.
- 02
Same layout on most images
Most images use a black background, a white centered caption at the top, a card, then a phone. The structure repeats, so the set reads as one system.
- 03
Long, sentence-style captions
Captions run to two or three lines. Some name a feature (stock analysis, F&O) and some use figures of speech (big sharks, bigger bang).
- 04
One topic per image
Portfolio, economic events, stock analysis, investor portfolios, F&O and video each get their own image. Every image has a distinct job.
- 05
PRO labels shown as part of the product
PRO tags appear on tabs and headers in several images. Visitors see which features are part of a paid tier before they install.

Apply it to your app
A checklist for your next product page update.
- Start with the job your app does for the user, then add the extras.
- Keep captions short. Cut a caption to one line where you can.
- Name the feature in plain words that your users use, before using a figure of speech.
- Zoom the key number or card past the device frame so it reads at thumbnail size.
- Use one layout, color and caption style across the whole set.
- Add a rating, user count, award or named data source if you have one, and place it early.
How the ASO score works
- 01
App name, 25 points
Up to 10 for how much of Apple's 30 characters it uses, 10 for a brand + keyword structure, 5 when keywords fill half the name or more.
- 02
Screenshots, 35 points
Captions on every image, captions that name searched features, a first screenshot that shows the main use, one design system, readability at search size, and a trust signal.
- 03
Ratings, 25 points
Up to 15 for the average (from 4.0, full marks at 4.8) and 10 for the count (from 1,000, full marks at 100,000 ratings).
- 04
Freshness, 15 points
Full marks for an update in the last 30 days, falling to zero at 180 days. 85+ is excellent, 70+ strong, 50+ fair.
Common questions
What is an ASO score?
A 100-point check of the parts of an App Store page you control: the app name, screenshots, ratings and how recently the app was updated. It's our own scoring rule, shown in full on this page, not a number from Apple. Use it to compare your page with apps that already sell well in your category.
How long can an app name be on the App Store?
30 characters. A common pattern is a short brand followed by the main thing people search for, like “Moneycontrol - Markets & News”, which uses 29. Apple also gives you a 30-character subtitle and a 100-character keyword field for more terms.
Which screenshots show up in App Store search results?
The first one to three, when the app has no preview video. That's why the first three should cover the main reasons people download. Moneycontrol uses them for investments, economic events and stock analysis.
How many screenshots can an iPhone app have?
Up to 10 per device size. Apple recommends focusing each screenshot after the first on one main benefit or feature. Moneycontrol uses 9.
Where do the download and revenue numbers come from?
They're third-party estimates for the US App Store, not figures reported by the developer. Treat them as a sense of scale. Growth compares the latest month with the month before.
Do screenshot captions help an app rank in search?
Apple says search results use text matches in the app name, subtitle, keywords and primary category, plus user behavior such as downloads, ratings and reviews. Captions aren't on that list: they help people who already see the app decide to download. When a caption names something people search for, put that term in the keyword field too.
Where the numbers come from
- Apple: Creating your product page
- App name limit (30 characters), up to 10 screenshots, the first one to three shown in search results, keyword field.
- Apple: App Store search
- Search results use text relevance (name, subtitle, keywords, primary category) and user behavior (downloads, ratings, reviews).
- Apple: Ratings, reviews and responses
- The in-app rating prompt can be shown up to three times in a 365-day period.
- Moneycontrol - Markets & News on the App Store
- Name, developer, category, icon, screenshots, rating, release and update dates (US storefront), checked Nov 4, 2026.
- Downloads and revenue
- Third-party est. for the US App Store, latest month, pulled Oct 29, 2026. Not reported by the developer.
