    MILITARY CALISTHENICS WORKOUT ANYWHERE!

    • military calisthenicsin name
    • workoutnot in name
    What it shows
A large photo of a woman in green workout wear on a camouflage background, with “80M+ Downloads” and “110k+ 5-star rating” badges at the bottom.
    Why it converts
Names the workout style in large type, so a visitor knows the category at once. The two badges are the app's own claims and give proof right away. No app screen is shown yet.

    Strong Muscles In 21 Days

    • musclesnot in name
    What it shows
A 21-day plan calendar with some days marked, above a phone screen for a 4-minute beginner workout called “Band Power Break”.
    Why it converts
Gives a time frame and shows the plan view and a workout screen together. The calendar tells a visitor there is a program to follow, not only single workouts.
  3. #3In search results

    Focus On Your Target Areas

    • target areasnot in name
    What it shows
Three photos labeled “Arms & Back”, “Abs & Core” and “Butt & Legs”, each with a glowing outline on the body area.
    Why it converts
Lets a visitor pick the body area they care about. Each label is short, and the outline points at one area per photo. It shows no app screen.
  4. #4

    7-Day Personalized Challenge

    • challengenot in name
    What it shows
A Challenges screen with a highlighted 7-day glute challenge card and a Join button, and a second challenge card below. Both carry a PRO tag.
    Why it converts
Shows that short challenges exist and that some need a paid plan. The PRO tags set the expectation before install. The highlighted card is easy to read at small size.
  5. #5

    Expert Coach Easy To Follow

    • coachnot in name
    What it shows
A workout in progress with a 00:30 timer and a woman mid-exercise, with three tick labels: “Beginner friendly”, “Video preview” and “Free add time”.
    Why it converts
Shows the in-workout screen. The tick labels turn three features into short promises to a new user, in plain words.
  6. #6

    Posture With Effective Guidance

    • posturenot in name
    • guidancenot in name
    What it shows
An exercise detail sheet for “Bent Elbow Shoulder Circles” with a standing demo image, a short tip, and a “Was this helpful?” row.
    Why it converts
Shows that each move has a demo and a tip, which speaks to people unsure about form.

Icon and design system

What makes the page read as one brand at a glance.

120px
60px
40px
  • One illustrated figure on a plain olive background. The subject is clear, but the icon shows no text or military cue beyond the color.
  • The olive green matches the camouflage-green backgrounds in the screenshots, so icon and gallery share one color.
  • The figure is cropped and fills the frame, so the shape should hold up at small sizes.
  1. 01

    Two-tone captions

A white line, then a yellow line for the key phrase, in bold type on most images.

  2. 02

    Mostly one idea per image

Plan, body areas, challenges, coaching and form guidance each get their own image. A visitor can match one to their own goal.

  3. 03

    Camouflage as the brand

The camouflage pattern and olive green repeat on most images and in the icon. It ties the visuals to the “military” in the name.

  4. 04

    Proof on the first image

The “80M+ Downloads” and “110k+ 5-star rating” badges sit on the first image. They are the app's own printed claims.

  5. 05

    Paid tiers shown openly

The challenge image shows PRO tags on the cards, so a visitor sees that some content is paid before installing.

Where the points are

  1. Ask happy users for a rating+9 pts

4.8 stars from 1,753 ratings. Apple's in-app rating prompt can be shown up to 3 times a year; show it right after a user finishes something in the app.

  2. Check caption terms against your subtitle and keywords

7 caption terms aren't in the app name: workout, muscles, target areas, challenge, coach, posture, guidance. Captions don't count for search; the subtitle and the 100-character keyword field do.

Apply it to your app

A checklist for your next product page update.

  • Name the workout style or category in large text on the first image.
  • Put proof on the first image, such as a rating or user count, and keep it to numbers you can back up.
  • Show at least one real app screen early, so the first image is not only a photo.
  • Give each image one job, such as a plan, an area or a feature.
  • Repeat a theme from the icon, such as a color or pattern, across the gallery.
  • Show paid labels such as PRO where they appear, so visitors know what to expect.
How it works

How the ASO score works

  1. 01

    App name, 25 points

Up to 10 for how much of Apple's 30 characters it uses, 10 for a brand + keyword structure, 5 when keywords fill half the name or more.

  2. 02

    Screenshots, 35 points

Captions on every image, captions that name searched features, a first screenshot that shows the main use, one design system, readability at search size, and a trust signal.

  3. 03

    Ratings, 25 points

Up to 15 for the average (from 4.0, full marks at 4.8) and 10 for the count (from 1,000, full marks at 100,000 ratings).

  4. 04

    Freshness, 15 points

Full marks for an update in the last 30 days, falling to zero at 180 days. 85+ is excellent, 70+ strong, 50+ fair.

FAQ

Common questions

What is an ASO score?

A 100-point check of the parts of an App Store page you control: the app name, screenshots, ratings and how recently the app was updated. It's our own scoring rule, shown in full on this page, not a number from Apple. Use it to compare your page with apps that already sell well in your category.

How long can an app name be on the App Store?

30 characters. Apple also gives you a 30-character subtitle and a 100-character keyword field for more terms.

Which screenshots show up in App Store search results?

The first one to three, when the app has no preview video. That's why the first three should cover the main reasons people download. Military Calisthenics Women uses them for military calisthenics, muscles and target areas.

How many screenshots can an iPhone app have?

Up to 10 per device size. Apple recommends focusing each screenshot after the first on one main benefit or feature. Military Calisthenics Women uses 8.

Where do the download and revenue numbers come from?

They're third-party estimates for the US App Store, not figures reported by the developer. Treat them as a sense of scale. Growth compares the latest month with the month before.

Do screenshot captions help an app rank in search?

Apple says search results use text matches in the app name, subtitle, keywords and primary category, plus user behavior such as downloads, ratings and reviews. Captions aren't on that list: they help people who already see the app decide to download. When a caption names something people search for, put that term in the keyword field too.
