Screenshots and why they convert
9 screenshots of up to 10, the first 6 shown here. The first 3 show in search results when there's no preview video.

#1In search results
Master Business English for real career growth
- business englishnot in name
- What it shows
- A coach list (Interview, Meeting, Public Speaking, Presentation, Sales, Negotiation) on a phone, an animated tutor character, and a button reading “Unlocks with ELSA Professional”.
- Why it converts
- Names the outcome and the audience in the first frame: business English for work. The coach list shows what is inside. The unlock button tells visitors up front that this part is paid.

#2In search results
Goal-based AI Coaching for Your Level
- ai coachingnot in name
- What it shows
- Goal and level pickers (Travel, Prepare for TOEFL, Interview prep, Work Talk; Beginner to Advanced) on tilted phones, with “1.6M+ Ratings” and “90M+ Downloads” badges.
- Why it converts
- Puts two numbers the app prints about itself, ratings and downloads, in the first few images. Phones are tilted and overlap, so the UI is small.

#3In search results
A Learning Path Based on Your Goals
- learning pathnot in name
- What it shows
- A lesson list under a learning path labeled 14 Units, CEFR C. Lesson 2 is highlighted with a green arrow.
- Why it converts
- Shows what a visitor gets after choosing a goal: a plan with named lessons. The highlighted row points the eye to one lesson, so the screen is not just a long list.

#4
Choose Your Own AI Tutor
- ai tutornot in name
- What it shows
- A row of round tutor avatars above a “Select your AI Tutor” screen. One tutor card, Riva America, is lifted out of the list.
- Why it converts
- Speaks to personal choice and makes the tutor feel like a character, not a tool. The lifted card picks one tutor out of the list.

#5
Bilingual Coach Learn in Your Native Language
- bilingual coachnot in name
- What it shows
- A tutor character with a “Hello!” bubble and a “Teach me in” menu offering English, Spanish and Simplified Chinese.
- Why it converts
- Answers an objection learners may have: whether the app explains in their own language. The language buttons are large and readable.

#6
Track Your Progress In Real Time
- track progressnot in name
- What it shows
- A proficiency screen with a B1 level badge and a five-point chart: pronunciation, fluency, intonation, grammar, vocabulary, each with a percentage.
- Why it converts
- Shows the reward of continued use: a visible score. The scores are large enough to read at small size.
Icon and design system
What makes the page read as one brand at a glance.
- 01
Outcome first, then features
The opening caption names a result, business English for career growth. Later images cover the coaching, path, tutor, language and progress features behind it.
- 02
Printed proof in the early images
The second image carries “1.6M+ Ratings” and “90M+ Downloads”. These are the app's own claims, placed where visitors still see them in search.
- 03
One idea in most captions
Most captions are a short phrase with one point: coaching, path, tutor, language, progress. The second line is bold, so the key words stand out.
- 04
Dark purple frame across the set
Most images share the dark gradient, white captions and phone frame. Swiping reads as one set.
- 05
UI pulled forward
A highlighted lesson row, a lifted tutor card and a character that overlaps the phone each direct the eye to one element on a busy screen.

Common questions
What is an ASO score?
A 100-point check of the parts of an App Store page you control: the app name, screenshots, ratings and how recently the app was updated. It's our own scoring rule, shown in full on this page, not a number from Apple. Use it to compare your page with apps that already sell well in your category.
How long can an app name be on the App Store?
30 characters. A common pattern is a short brand followed by the main thing people search for, like “ELSA Speak - English Learning”, which uses 29. Apple also gives you a 30-character subtitle and a 100-character keyword field for more terms.
Which screenshots show up in App Store search results?
The first one to three, when the app has no preview video. That's why the first three should cover the main reasons people download. ELSA Speak uses them for business english, ai coaching and learning path.
How many screenshots can an iPhone app have?
Up to 10 per device size. Apple recommends focusing each screenshot after the first on one main benefit or feature. ELSA Speak uses 9.
Where do the download and revenue numbers come from?
They're third-party estimates for the US App Store, not figures reported by the developer. Treat them as a sense of scale. Growth compares the latest month with the month before.
Do screenshot captions help an app rank in search?
Apple says search results use text matches in the app name, subtitle, keywords and primary category, plus user behavior such as downloads, ratings and reviews. Captions aren't on that list: they help people who already see the app decide to download. When a caption names something people search for, put that term in the keyword field too.
Where the numbers come from
- Apple: Creating your product page
- App name limit (30 characters), up to 10 screenshots, the first one to three shown in search results, keyword field.
- Apple: App Store search
- Search results use text relevance (name, subtitle, keywords, primary category) and user behavior (downloads, ratings, reviews).
- Apple: Ratings, reviews and responses
- The in-app rating prompt can be shown up to three times in a 365-day period.
- ELSA Speak - English Learning on the App Store
- Name, developer, category, icon, screenshots, rating, release and update dates (US storefront), checked Nov 4, 2026.
- Downloads and revenue
- Third-party est. for the US App Store, latest month, pulled Oct 29, 2026. Not reported by the developer.
