Train body & mind with BlazePod's revolutionary Flash Reflex Training

    • reflex trainingnot in name
    What it shows
Two people doing push-ups with their hands on small light pods, shown on a phone that displays the BlazePod logo, with a stack of glowing pods at the right edge.
    Why it converts
Shows the real use, training with pods, in the first frame. The phone itself only shows a logo screen, so the product is carried by the photo and the pods.
  2. #2In search results

Auto connect your Pods for a unique training experience

    • connect podsnot in name
    What it shows
A Pod Settings screen listing connected pods with battery levels and available pods, beside a large glowing cyan pod.
    Why it converts
Shows the setup step and the physical product together. It tells a visitor that the app pairs with hardware, which the name alone does not.
  3. #3In search results

Enjoy countless activities for all sports and levels of fitness

    • activitiesnot in name
    What it shows
A Training hub screen with drill cards such as Power Push Up Two and Resistance Band Catch, each marked with players and pods.

Shows variety with real drill names. The wide claim in the caption is backed by cards a visitor can read.
  4. #4

Create customized activities to fit your needs

    • customized activitiesnot in name
    What it shows
A Focus activity screen with a picture of four pods, two lit, a short explanation and a Create Activity button.
    Why it converts
Shows that users can build their own drills.
  5. #5

Track progress with a detailed results screen

    • track progressnot in name
    What it shows
A timer reading 00:00:20, a score of 10 hits, an average reaction of 200 and a reaction-time chart in milliseconds.
    Why it converts
Closes on the result a user gets back from training.

Icon and design system

What makes the page read as one brand at a glance.

120px
60px
40px
  • One shape, a ring with a trailing streak, with no text.
  • Blue gradient on dark navy matches the colors used in the screenshots, so icon and gallery look like one brand.
  • The ring and streak read at small sizes.
  1. 01

    Two-tone captions

A bold cyan or white lead line, then a lighter second line that completes the sentence. Most images use the same split.

  2. 02

    Product and app together

Glowing pods sit beside or behind the phone, so the hardware is visible next to the screens that control it.

  3. 03

    One idea per image

Training, connecting pods, picking activities, building activities and tracking results each get their own image.

  4. 04

    Mostly navy background

A dark blue gradient with cyan highlights on most images. The pods glow in the same cyan as the captions.

  5. 05

    Real photo first, UI after

The first image uses a training photo. The later ones show app screens with readable titles like Training hub and Pod Settings.

Where the points are

  1. Use the rest of the app name+22 pts

22 characters are free. Add the next most important search term.

  2. Ask happy users for a rating+21 pts

4.2 stars from 233 ratings. Apple's in-app rating prompt can be shown up to 3 times a year; show it right after a user finishes something in the app.

  3. Check caption terms against your subtitle and keywords

5 caption terms aren't in the app name: reflex training, connect pods, activities, customized activities, track progress. Captions don't count for search; the subtitle and the 100-character keyword field do.

Apply it to your app

A checklist for your next product page update.

  • Show the real use in screenshot 1, not only a logo screen inside the phone.
  • If your app needs hardware, show the hardware in the first images.
  • Keep captions to one short line plus one short line of support.
  • Make the key numbers on a screen large enough to read at thumbnail size.
  • Name real features on screen, such as drill titles, so broad claims have proof.
  • Add a trust signal, such as a rating, press mention or user count, if you have a real one.
How it works

How the ASO score works

  1. 01

    App name, 25 points

Up to 10 for how much of Apple's 30 characters it uses, 10 for a brand + keyword structure, 5 when keywords fill half the name or more.

  2. 02

    Screenshots, 35 points

Captions on every image, captions that name searched features, a first screenshot that shows the main use, one design system, readability at search size, and a trust signal.

  3. 03

    Ratings, 25 points

Up to 15 for the average (from 4.0, full marks at 4.8) and 10 for the count (from 1,000, full marks at 100,000 ratings).

  4. 04

    Freshness, 15 points

Full marks for an update in the last 30 days, falling to zero at 180 days. 85+ is excellent, 70+ strong, 50+ fair.

FAQ

Common questions

What is an ASO score?

A 100-point check of the parts of an App Store page you control: the app name, screenshots, ratings and how recently the app was updated. It's our own scoring rule, shown in full on this page, not a number from Apple. Use it to compare your page with apps that already sell well in your category.

How long can an app name be on the App Store?

30 characters. Apple also gives you a 30-character subtitle and a 100-character keyword field for more terms.

Which screenshots show up in App Store search results?

The first one to three, when the app has no preview video. That's why the first three should cover the main reasons people download. BlazePod uses them for reflex training, connect pods and activities.

How many screenshots can an iPhone app have?

Up to 10 per device size. Apple recommends focusing each screenshot after the first on one main benefit or feature. BlazePod uses 5.

Where do the download and revenue numbers come from?

They're third-party estimates for the US App Store, not figures reported by the developer. Treat them as a sense of scale. Growth compares the latest month with the month before.

Do screenshot captions help an app rank in search?

Apple says search results use text matches in the app name, subtitle, keywords and primary category, plus user behavior such as downloads, ratings and reviews. Captions aren't on that list: they help people who already see the app decide to download. When a caption names something people search for, put that term in the keyword field too.
